The Challenge

Recognised as one of the ‘Top 50 Indies’ by Forecourt Trader, MPK Garages were looking for a cash handling solution that would secure their cash, cut their cash losses and improve the efficiency of their sites. With cash still a prominent payment choice for MPK Garages customers – more than 60% of all transactions are made in cash – they turned to Volumatic for help.

The Solution

After approaching Volumatic and Volumatic taking the time to understand all their requirements, MPK Garages rolled out the CounterCache intelligent (CCi) solution to its entire estate. As a one-touch cash solution, CCi checks, counts and stores banknotes at the point of sale, which solved all of MPK’s issues. In addition to reducing risk of theft, the CCi also removed the need for staff to check for forged notes, as it automatically does forgery checks as notes are fed into the device. These forgery checks are aligned with the Bank of England forgery framework, which was an added bonus for MPK.

The Outcome

Following the rollout of CCi, MPK has been able to cut cash loss by a staggering 96%. MPK’s Retail Director Wayne Harrand said: “We removed all cash risks from the business.
